Often glossed over, the letter ‘D’ plays an important role in higher articulation. In this series, we focus on the articulation of consonants. Habitually, people tend to place their focus on vowels rather than consonants, which makes their words very sloppy-sounding.
Given a simple sentence such as;
“Darrell was nominated by his friend and had to read a read to the other students” ,
we find that not everyone sounds as clear with their stresses on the letter D.
How do we pronounce the letter D? Answer: We use our tongue. The tip of our tongue must meet the alveolar ridge located at the ceiling of our mouth in order to produce the sounds of the letter D. This will truly help to articulate your D sounds, better.
Try this technique when reading out your letter D sounds. You might just sound grand if you do!
